The Internal Review Committee

The Review Committee meets every 4 to 6 weeks throughout the year. It is made up of counsellors, all senior medical staff and paramedical staff and a member of the Egg Donation programme. To be submitted to the Review Committee you must have been seen by two separate counsellors for assessments before your case can be discussed. The consultant at the LG&FC will explain this to you.

Your case must be discussed at the Review Committee if you are:

  • A single lady
  • Over the age of 51
  • Using a known donor (The donor also has to see the counsellors)
  • A lesbian couple
  • Considering Surrogacy
Your case may also have to be reviewed if the consultant or the internal counsellor who sees you for consultation feels that there are any adverse emotional or physical aspects that may affect your or the welfare of any potential child resulting from the treatment.
