Egg donation is probably the one of the most precious gifts that one
woman can give to another. If you are considering donating your eggs, we
want you to know that you are a very special lady for considering something
like this. It is something that could help an infertile couple achieve their lifelong dream of having a family of their own. We have an extreme shortage of egg
donors, which means that there are many couples (over 200 people on our
waiting list) out there, who have been waiting for many years for that one
special person to help them change their lives forever.

On this site you will find some information that we hope will answer most of your
questions about egg donation. However, if you have any further queries, please
feel free to call us at the Logan Centre on 020 7486 2598 and we will be happy to
answer any questions or concerns you may have.

We suggest you take some time to read through the information and familiarise
yourself with all the details about egg donation. If you would like to go ahead,
please complete the attached form and mail it back to us. We will then set up a
free counselling session for you with one of our resident counsellors and also
with a gynaecologist. The counselling and consultation is pressure free and we
would not ask that you made a decision about your involvement with the
programme until two weeks after the session.

Once again, we would like to sincerely thank you for considering becoming an egg donor. If you do proceed, your involvement may result in your knowing that you could not have done more to influence the lives of others.

UPDATE: From 1st April 2005, all donors registering with UK clinics will be identifiable to people conceived using their gametes when these people reach the age of 18. These donor-conceived people may apply to the HFEA to receive the following identifying information about their donors:

1. The donor's name (and name at birth, if different) and address

2. The donor's date of birth and the town or district of birth

3. The appearance of the donor.

This information will only be given out by the HFEA to a child born as a result of the donation after the child's 18th birthday and only upon request made by the child. The recipients will receive only non-identifying information about the donor at the time of treatment.
